Macy Richardson (she/her) is a Youth Navigation specialist in the Thrive by Hope program at HTS that serves 18–24-year-olds experiencing homelessness. Macy comes to this role with 5 years of training and education in public and humanitarian health; 3 of which have been focused on HIV prevention and care. She is a passionate harm reductionist and advocate for underserved and marginalized communities with a strong foundation in infectious disease prevention, health education, and community empowerment. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in disease from Indiana University-Bloomington, along with minors in International Studies, African Studies, and Swahili and has a combination of public health experience at the local, State, and Federal levels.
Currently, she provides case management services and leads initiatives to support and uplift youth experiencing homelessness through document assistance, benefit coordination, and housing navigation. She understands the importance of being trauma informed and meeting people where they are at; she strongly believes that clients are the experts of their own lived experience, and the case-manager/client relationship is truly a collaboration.
