Quiane (Q) Turner (she/her)

Quiane “Q” Turner is a 2L at Georgia State University College of Law and serves as the
President of the Black Law Student Association. Q is also a student member of the Gate City, Atlanta, and Georgia Bar Associations. As an Atlanta native with a legacy of involvement in civil rights, she started her activism at 15. Q joined the NAACP at 17,
marking the beginning of her dedication to social justice. She has earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Valdosta State University, with a minor in African American Studies, and a master’s degree in African American Studies from Clark Atlanta University. Q also serves as the Legal Redress Chair of the Henry County
Branch of the NAACP, addressing legal injustices in her community.
Q spent her 1L summer as an intern for both the Davis Bozeman Johnson Law firm and the Federal Defender program. Additionally, she serves as Chief of Staff to State
Representative Mekyah McQueen, supporting policy strategy, legislative planning, and community engagement. Q’s passions focus on addressing police brutality, advancing civil rights, and promoting social justice. With a background in grassroots organizing and public service, she is committed to using law and policy to create a more equitable country. Q aspires to be a civil rights attorney after graduating from law school.
